Update 4/21/11
Just a reminder that there will be no school Friday (4/22/11) or Monday (4/25/11) for our Spring Recess.
Mark you calendar, however, for Thursday, April 28 -- our class will be presenting the plays they have been working on for the last few weeks. Everyone took home a letter that gives all the details. I do hope to see you there!

Update 4/13/11
We had a great first day of AIMS testing today. I think most students found the tests not as difficult as they had imagined. We wrapped up the day with some pretty neat fun activities, including an extra recess, so the students in general felt it was an "okay" day.
We had several students absent. These students will need to make up the AIMS test later. It is important that they return to school as soon as possible, so that they can finish as much of the test as they can this week.
Again, no homework for this week!
Have a great evening,
Ms. Shrader

Update -- No Homework -- 4/12/11
As this is AIMS week, there will be no homework for this entire week. AIMS is a test that covers an entire year's worth of learning objectives, so last minute studying probably won't help much, if at all. Better strategies for doing well on the test are:
In addition to doing the AIMS test, we will also be working on several projects -- one involving a production that parents will certainly be invited to attend! In many ways, this is one of the most enjoyable weeks of the school year, in my opinion.
If you have questions or concerns about AIMS or this week, please do not hesitate to email me at dshrader@hesglendale.org .
Thanks!
Ms. Shrader
- Get plenty of good rest the night before (go to bed a little early, if possible)
- Get a good breakfast
- Practice ways to relax (for those who get nervous about tests)
