These are the reminders that were included in our newsletter for this week. Because I know that the newsletter sometimes does not actually get home, [ : ) ] I am reprinting it here.
1. For this week, all lunches purchased from the cafeteria need to be paid for in advance.
2. All textbooks and library books need to be returned before Friday, May 25. (There will be a charge for lost textbooks.)
3. Wednesday is an early release day, as usual. We will be watching the staff/student sports events outside, so students need to bring hats and sunscreen.
4. Thursday, May 24 is an event-filled day!
a. The School-wide Awards Ceremony, honoring students who have been consistent achievers every quarter, begins at 9:00 am in the South Gym. Parents are encouraged to attend.
b. At 1:00 pm, the Third Grade will hold an awards ceremony to honor students who are high achievers for the 4th quarter, though they may not have received awards in every other quarter. This assembly will be held in the North Gym and again, parents are encouraged to attend.
c. Right after the Third Grade Awards Ceremony, our class will head back to our classroom to have our End-of-the-Year Party. I am asking students to bring snacks to share and to be ready to celebrate. Parents are welcome, too!
5. Friday, May 25 is the last day of school. We will clean up the classroom and probably watch a movie. It is an early release day (12:15 pm) WITH NO AFTERCARE AVAILABLE. Report cards will be issued at dismissal time.

Homework/Update 5/10/12
We had a great time for our field trip! Thank you to our chaperons who made the trip possible. We all really enjoyed the play version of Charlotte's Web.
Homework for tonight is simply to complete and turn in the homework assigned yesterday. As one update, the Social Studies poster project will not be due until Thursday, May 17 (next week). Students will have class time to complete this project, and I will supply the poster boards.
That's all!
